Nominations

ETHAN WISE

I would like to be considered for the position of Vice President.  I am 14 and have been riding appaloosas before I could walk.  My dad would hold me in front of him when he went riding then I started riding an old horse that already knew what to do so with me hanging onto the horn with my legs to short to even go past the saddle skirt he taught me how to ride.  I have done many presentations in school and 4-H about the appaloosa and am proud to be riding one.  I believe that the youth have a voice in the future of this club and should become strong and united so that we can be heard.  Being involved with 4-H for the past six years has taught me how much fun a youth group can have if they pull together and work as a team.  I think we can accomplish this with all the members in the youth by involving those who show and those who are promoting the appaloosa in open, 4-H, trail rides and parades.  We the youth are the future of the horse world and should be proud to putting our voice together with the general membership.

Thank you, Ethan Wise

RYAN MAIN

Hi.  My name is Ryan.  I am 10 years old and a 4th grader at Lewis Central. I want to be Treasurer because in 3rd & 4th grade I got an A+ in math with money counting.  Why I want to be Treasurer is because I had no job in the Youth Club last year, but I still went to all the meetings so I knew what was going on.  I feel I could do a good job as Treasurer. Thanks!!!

MACKENZIE MAIN

My name is Mackenzie Main.  I am a 7th grade honor roll student at Lewis Central Middle School in Council Bluffs.  I have been active with horses ever since I can remember.  When I first started showing I was the only one in lead line.  I have placed first in the Nation in Walk/Trot games and spent many hours grooming and loving my horses. I love horses and people.  I love to have fun with friends.  I would like to become President because I want to see change and growth within the Youth Club.  I have many ideas and suggestions that I think would bring fun and exciting plans to bring our youth together.  If we start now as young people we will grow and become life long friends.  I still enjoy sitting around listening to stories of when my dad was growing up in the show ring.  I want to remember these times and help the Appaloosa Horse Club grow.  My dad and his friends have worked very hard to bring the new club together and I would like to see the Youth Club do the same.  Thank you.

SHELBY STETSON

I’m Shelby Stetson and want to be your President.  I am a straight A student in
the 8th grade at Stilwell Jr. High in West Des Moines.   I believe I am a strong
leader that has the authority and intelligence to help run this club.   I am
passionate about showing at the IAA shows and I know that I want to show in a
friendly and fun atmosphere.  I make good decisions and know how to be
productive and believe all members should feel free to share their ideas and
participate as much as they would like to be.  If I am elected President of the IAA
Youth Club, I will encourage new members to join and make sure they feel
welcomed.   I will also help make sure that all of the members have a fun learning experience. Thank you for your consideration.

KELSEY MERSCHMAN

My name is Kelsey Merschman, I am fourteen years old.  I would like to be the
IAA Youth Club historian because I am good behind the scenes.  I love taking
pictures with my camera and am a very organized person.  Recording events is
also one of my specialties. Being a good writer is something that is important to
me.  If you elect me as Historian, I promise that I will give 110% in recording
events efficiently and taking pictures of all the fun we will be having this year.
Thank you!
