or the IAA Board of Directors.
PRIZE MONEY: All proceeds from the sale of the
stallion services, minus 25% (given to the Select Stallion Futurity for
operational expenses) will be used as “prize money” for the SELECT STALLION
FUTURITY. Accumulated interest from money received through stallion service
auction investments will be used to pay expenses.
ELIGIBILITY: Only “foals” resulting from the
stallion fee purchased at the SELECT STALLION AUCTION and the stallion
donator will be eligible for the WEANLING purse. However, ALL YEARLINGS AND

eligible for the Yearling Longe Line Class and Two-Year-Old Snaffle Bit
Western Pleasure Futurity.

contract must be signed; Stallion owner will submit a photocopy of stallion
papers. Stallion owner agrees to file a stallion report with the Appaloosa
Horse Club. Stallion owner may show one foal for each stallion service sold
and paid in full. The stallion owner will have the option of paying the
balance of any unpaid fee of their stallion as of December 31st of year due
to maintain eligibility in the auction. The stallion owner will then have
two eligible entries. Stallion owner will be responsible for nominating
their mare on or before January 1st . Stallion owner shall contact the
Futurity Secretary to see if all money is paid on their stallion(s) before
a Breeders Certificate is issued to the purchaser of the fee. If money is
still owed, the Breeders Certificate will not be issued until the Futurity
Secretary notifies stallion owner that the fee is paid in full or the
Breeders Certificate can be sent to the Futurity Secretary.

may be auctioned. Starting bid must be one half of the advertised fee or
greater, with a minimum starting bid of $200.00. If the advertised fee is

year. In the case of death of the original mare or should she prove
unbreedable, a substitute mare will be acceptable. The stallion service fee
from the Stallion Auction will remain in the year purchased but the foal
will be moved to his year of eligibility. If there are extenuating
circumstances concerning a return privilege, the Select Stallion Futurity
Committee will discuss the matter and make a ruling.
CREDIT: In the event of the following: death of
a stallion; stallion being unserviceable; stallion owner, manager or lessee
refusing to honor contract for any reason; or should the stallion be moved
to an undesirable location, credit will be given purchaser the following
year for the same amount on another breeding fee through the Auction if
approved by the Select Stallion Futurity Committee. However, if there is no
attempt to breed in the appropriate year, then it becomes a forfeit unless
there are extenuating circumstances and the Futurity Secretary is notified
of the circumstance by August 1st of the breeding year following purchase.
The Select Stallion Futurity Committee with discuss the matter and make a
ruling. There are no refunds. A party may sell his purchased stud fee by
notifying the Futurity Secretary in writing. By doing so, that party
