PURPOSE: To promote the horse industry with bigger purses for futurity horses, promote pleasure horses as well as halter and performance horses, and hopefully create a market for young horses and the APPALOOSA breed. The Iowa Appaloosa Futurity was formed in 1987. GENERAL RULES: THIS FUTURITY IS OPEN TO ALL! The Futurity Show will be held on a weekend in September. This Futurity will be held at the same time as the MAHA FUTURITY/AAA FUTURITY and is sponsored by the Iowa Appaloosa Association. Judges may or may not be ApHC approved judges, but they will be approved card carrying judges from other breed associations. Non-Pro and Youth cards are required in all of the appropriate classes. Should dishonesty in ownership, entry or registration be found, the fees paid shall be forfeited and added to the purse, and the entry will not be permitted to show. All horses are subject to drug testing. A positive test would result in the entry being disqualified and all points earned will be forfeited. All horses must be stalled. REGISTRATION: ApHC registration papers must be in hand at the show, except for weanlings. Weanlings may be regular, non-characteristic or CPO, and papers must be shown to the secretary by October 1 of current year to be eligible for any prizes won. Regular or CPO papers are required on all other classes. CLASSES OFFERED: (Classes are not listed here in order of showing)
